Examining the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems in Tunisian Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) during Covid-19: From IoT and AI Perspectives

This research examined the upgradation of ERP systems in Tunisian Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) through the Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence during the Covid-19 crisis. Resource-based theory supported this research, and data was collected from 400 respondents. Results showed that SMEs in Tunisia incorporated the Internet of Things (IoT) in their Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, further reducing managerial risks, reducing resource costs, improving diagnostics, and improving controls leading to sustaining effective controls and systems. Besides, these SMEs also incorporated Artificial Intelligence in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems leading to improved recruitment and HR systems, enhanced administrative tasks, support services, legal services and consultations, immediate responses, and organizations’ project assortment. Further, this research provides implications and limitations are discussed accordingly.
